Walmart is a large department store. A Super Walmart is also a grocery store. You can buy just about anything in a Walmart. Clothing, electronics, tools, pet supplies, craft supplies, hardware, kitchen items, small appliances, paint, automotive items, you name it, there's probably something like it at Walmart. The grocery department is a full size grocery store with most any grocery item you can want. The "big deal" would be that almost any decent sized town has a Walmart, so it's easy to get there, and their prices tend to be the lowest around. It is good for lower income people and people with a small budget. You will not find designer items or expensive name brands there. The quality of the items is average, but usually is a decent quality for the price. i tend to shop there more than most other places simply because it's the closest store where I can get pretty much everything I need. I would have to drive 30 miles (about 50 km) to get to the next town that has different stores. I hope this helps you understand the Walmart phenomena. |

Walmart own Asda...if you took away the food from Asda and had a huge shop with the kind of stuff you have left (George, electronics and so on) that's kind of what Walmart is like. The shops tend to be huge and stock loads of toys, clothes, electrical goods, sports goods and so on. Look up consumerism and you'll see =} |

Don't worry about not knowing, it's a crappy store where the workers are underpaid, the products break after 2 days, and the food is stale. It sells food, toys, electronics- but it's a really crappy place. Don't worry about not having one where you live. You're not missing much. |
