I don't think that they keep track and it is definitely not illegal, but I wouldn't do it personally because it is kind of morally wrong. |

Yes, this is consumer fraud. If caught you could be hit with a misdemeanor at least, or felony theft if they can prove over 100$ worth of fraudulent transactions. Are you supplying them with a drivers license or form of ID for the transactions? I know when I worked at customer service for another large chain, we would often catch people doing things like this and they'd very pleasanty wait to speak with a manager while we called police. Stop doing it now. Rent a game if you're not sure you'll enjoy owning it. |

Yea, everything purchased and returned goes on your Costco card and they might catch on b/c they might one day scan your card and get like 100 returns on games |

It probably is illegal, and if it bothers you this much then you should just STOP doing it b/c it is WRONG! |
|

god.

i doubt that they will ban you right away. they will atleast give you a warning of some sort. im sure its not illegal because its part of thier policy |

Hell no, this is perfectly legal. As long as their policy says 90 days then you do w/e you want with that. |

Probably not illegal, but I can see how they might stop you from making returns if you keep doing it non-stop.
They can't fine you, but you could can you, but i doubt they would ban you. I think they would ask you to stop. |

I've done the same exact thing and i didn't get cought, but i stopped because i was worrying a lot but then my friend tried it and he got cought and got a 5,000 dollar fine. |

Of course it is all on record.
They will warn you before you go to jail or anything, that is if they catch on.
Have somebody else go for you. |

It certainly comes close to illegal. Most stores do track returns to stop just this thing from happening, Costco typically tracks with your member card. If they catch you they can ban you especially since they are a club store (they can legally refuse to sell to you, take away the Costco membership or stop accepting your returns). |

I used to do the same for Gamestop, but they only allow for a week |

haha it is perfectly legal! They might eventually ban you if they catch on. The best thing to do is pay cash so they dont have a credit card record. Try to return it during different days and times so you get different people who work different shifts so they dont recongize you. Hell, mix it up a bit and try Walmart, Target, etc. Great idea! |

trust me weve all done it.........yes they do record it and no you probably will not get in trouble but they will probably not let you return an item anymore.....that kind of happened to me |

if you do 1 game at a time every 90 days, i doubt they will catch on
if it was every week maybe, even every month maybe. But three months, they definitely wont remember, and most logs will be gone by then.
Have fun. |
