First, thing, don't ever make your boss's life hell. Your job is to make him or her look good no matter what a jerk they are. If you think you cannot handle that, go get a better job. The problem with making his or her life hell is it will only bother than for a short time, but it can carry into your future jobs. Besides, a boss can make your life more hell than the other way around. |

You need to look for another job. If the workplace you are in is not a congenial one, and if you absolutely can't stand your manager, then the only sensible option is for you to get out. If you start a harassment campaign and try to make his life hell on earth, you may wind up on the end of a law suit and face not only being fired but also getting fined. Then too, you will need to ask your manager for a reference - what kind of reference is he going to give you if he can't stand the sight of you? If you don't want to leave the company, ask for a transfer to somewhere else. |

It is very unprofessional to make your manager's life hell.
If there is a legit complaint to be made about your manager then go through the proper chain. Contact his/hr boss with the complaint and make sure you have the proof to back it up. then file that complaint against him/her.
If you are doing something that has your manager on your back and you want to have retribution. Then you might just want to transfer to another place to work. If you are the type of person that your boss is always on your case about something then you might already be making your boss' life hell.
Since you are working- you must be an adult. Act like an adult then. Payback or making someone life's hell is really not the answer. If you are working there and not happy- then it might be time to look for a job that can make you happy.

If you are being harrassed or unfairly treated in some way, report the misconduct to a boss about two levels up. For example, if your Manager is a Department Manager, go to the Store Manager or District Manager or both to discuss the problem.
I once had a problem with a retail boss, and only went one level up, and they were close friends, and the problem was "blown off", but if I would have reported it to a Regional Manager, it would have garnered the attention it deserved.
If this is a case of sexual harrassment, try to get proof in the way of videotape or recording, or save any phone, email or text messages as proof. The Store Manager who I worked for as Co Manager was telling female employees they had to have sex with him to keep their jobs, and when nothing happened to him, I ended up leaving a very good job and moving to a different company, taking the employees with me to the new employer. But it didn't stop the problem. The person I reported it to was a longtime friend of the offender, and said it was her word against his, and since he was above her in chain of command, and we had no 'real" proof, she would be fired. This was over 20 years ago, and I regret not pushing it.
If you just don't like the person, or have a personal grudge or something, leave it alone, and don't ruin your reputation by trying to "get back" at them. Your personnel records would reflect that and in the long run, its just not worth it. However, if you have a legitimate complaint, or are alerting upper management of that manager's theft, cheating, or other dishonesty, you will be justly rewarded.

Well you can do many things if you don't maid getting fired but if you want to keep you job and just piss off you mgr ask lots of questions even if you know the answer and then re-ask same questions later then when it comes to work don't work so slow that you look like you are trying to be slow but defiantly do not work to you potentially |

it's called "passive-aggressive" behavior. Act stupid about what the manager wants you to do without jeapordizing your job (unless you do want to get fired). whatever you are asked to do - do not make any assumptions. ONLY do exactly what he wants done without you having to think about it. Be prepared to respond with "Oh, i just did what you said to do." always be able to blame whatever it is by reminding the manager that you did EXACTLY what was asked. turn it around so that it makes the manager look stupid and you just stand there without comment. if i knew exaclty what your job description was i could be more specific. i know how to be mean and smile at the same tiime...... |
