I am a Wal-Mart employee what do you all think about the wonderfull place?

I worked there for five years. I hated it.

1: The managers have no idea what they are doing. I have been in trouble so many times for following their orders to break rules its not even funny. A girl I worked with even got written up for not working her scheduled hours by the manager who told her to come in and leave an hour later than she was scheduled.

2: They will tell you anything to avoid you going over their heads and beat around the bush for years to avoid it. I was told I was getting a two dollar raise because thats what I shoudl have started at for my experience and they beat around the bush for two years and finally told me I wasn't getting it.

3: The Department Managers are allowed to treat you like you're five years old and they never have to answer for it even though the company policy says its worth a write up.

4: They do NOTHING about sexual harrassment. One of my old bosses made a rather inappropriate comment about the legs of a woman I worked with and nothing happened.

5: They will give you orders and then yell at you for following them. I don't know HOW many times I told people that they couldn't park in the loading zone because my manager told me to tell them that, and then I got yelled at because the customer was mad about it.

6: No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service is the law, but it is not enforced at Walmart. They are not allowed to say anything to them, and they are allowed to shop just like everyone else regardless of the health issues and the law.

7: They will fire you for working hard. Several times, before my shore changed their hiring age, there were minors that would run a cash register. These minors were only allowed to work twenty-something hours a week, which came out to about four hours a day. You got in trouble for leaving your register, but the CSMs wouldn't replace you so you could leave, so they were stuck there way past the time that they were supposed to leave. So instead of giving the CSM a write up for not doing their jobs, they would just fire the minor.

8: Breaks and lunches are a luxury to them. I don't know how many times myself and people I worked with went without breaks or lunches. One girl was on a cash register and I was off of work and went through her line and she told me that she had been at work for seven hours and had told three different CSMs that she hadn't had a single break, let alone a lunch, and nobody did anything about it.

9: They expect the impossible in five minutes flat. I remember times when I was told to use the forklift and move every single pallet of soil the garden center had and re-shrinkwrap it and the co-manager expected it done in less than ten minutes. Oh, while ordering me to violate safety code too.

10: Managers are above safety code. One of the safety teams biggest complaints was that they would give the managers safety violation slips and they would never go on record because they would tear them up and trash them.

I could go on and on, but I think this gives you a bit of an idea what I think of Walmart. Customers service is ok about 60% of the time, but they sacrifice the well being of their associates to reach that.

It went downhill after the last decent Walton: Helen 2007, Bud 1995, and Mr 1992. Samuel Robson Walton hides behind the law and stays away from attention so that people do not become aware of him.

Samuel Robson Robson may have betrayed his own principles.

They hire ex CIA, FBI, and Military Intelligence to spy on the people and their so called Global Ethics Office is a joke.

Why do you think they have a high turnover.

Target, Sears, and K-Mart are just as bad as Wal-Mart who owns Sam's Club. All make promises that they do not keep.

I had job at walmart as sale associate

I got hired in the pet department my supervisor fired for little things there was a cart guy who was annoying me and let it get me by saying something back and got let because of it.

I work my *** off. Personally this person had more bad things on him then I. He had more no calls & no shows, he was always late to work by 4 hours and CSM as doing favoring him. CSM also gave me hard look each time.

No ofense to the people who work there but i think most of have don't have high dipolma because my supervisor could not count change when he paid me out.

Not only that he wanted to give me my pay out of 100 something dollars and say you don't have any other hours. I said yes i work last 2 week where the rest of my money then he when to the back office double check and there was my check in personnel office

Because of let go. I have not shop at Covina, CA for lot of other reasons besides that.

I wish they would close down that store it just bad one there letting of people for little reasons because of low sales.

I love to shop at wal-mart as well but i did work there for two years and it was ok till i started to see the real runnings of the place, and then i did not like it so i found a new job and quit, they are so unfair and this goes for every wal-mart,

I love stealing from walmart. Always the lowest prices.

i personally am a walmart junkie. i love walmart. your guy's prices have shot up a little bit and you're not that cheap anymore but i still love walmart.i mean where else can u get ur nails done, get an eye exam, buy pickles and ice cream, take a family portrait and get your hearing checked all in 2 hours! LOL.

I love Wal Mart and shop there all the time.

Love the prices, but it always looks like a hurricane passed through.
