Over the years I have witnessed situations that could have been handled better.
1. A job, is assigned, and an employee is working on it. But the Boss, didn't instruct them one the proper procedure , after several hours the boss walks through discovers the employee doing the job wrong and berates him as if he never had a brain or a place to put one. A simular thing happened to me many years ago. My answer to him after he calmed down was, If I am asked to do a job, an nothing is said as to how to do it , then I have to assume that must be I'm doing it right. If not , then Instructions on how it was to be done should have been made before I started.
I have all so observed that their are some bosses that take the word of a female employee against other employees and trust me there is no way to fix a problem such as that . Cases where she feels that no matter what she does is fine and it doesn't matter to her if a person gets fired or quites their job because of the constant stress she's inflicts on any body that looks cross ways at her.
I've been on both sides of this , I have been a employee and a boss, And one thing that I learned was, you need to be able to teach a new employee , you need to be able to calmly instruct and Employee, when a mistake is made and show them how to rectify it, and you need to give a ( you doing a good job ) We appriciate your good work) when they're doing a good job, or they just saved you a ton of money by catching a problem in time, themsleves. It doesn't always have to be monatary, but it is one of the most impotant things a boss needs to learn, To give credit when and where credit is due, |
