It was basically he-said, she-said. And even worse, his subordinates backed up his story. Even still, did this do any damage whatsoever to his rep? The incident, though unproven, cast a doubt in the integrity of the guy in the eyes of his boss?

It was definitely the right thing to report him. People who will stoop low enough to sexually harass another person will do it again. When he does it to somebody else, and now he has a history, his integrity will definitely suffer in the eyes of his bosses. If nothing else, you've laid the foundation. |

Well how to prove a guy grabbed your ***...I mean it's not like you're gonna have a video camera with you? "Um, can you do that again and this time, more feeling?"
Look, the company has an obligation to protect you from this jerk once the complaint has been made. If they don't do anything you can take it straight to the Equal Employment Commission (I think that's what they're called) and the local State Attorney's office.

Its not good to be in the middle of this type of issues. I had a district manager which went through the same issue, I must admit it was hard to promote him thinking what if he is a problem in the future. If you do promote your always keeping close tabs on that person. |
