I bought a 985.00 lap top on ebay. I have not received the product. It's been 2months now. Can the person I bought it go to jail for not sending product? Can I file claim or lawsuit? Can they track the person down somehow? I'm pissed off badly. I paid through paypal, and didnt have insurance on the product. Stupid me. What can I do, and what will happen to the people who scammed me. Thanks |

do you have proof that the person did not send the product?
are there not escrow services to use?
You can probably complain to eBay, but you are ultimately responsible for your purchases. |

You need to file a claim with Paypal. They will investigate it and get your refund. |

Contact eBay, they will be able to contact the seller, I'm afraid though that there is issues with buying from eBay and I as a seller have been threatened will legal action because a buyer wasn't intelligent enough to read the ad properly and thought what he bought would be perfect...bif difference between perfect condition and working order! |

Contact Ebay ASAP..I could only find this page below..Does the person still have a profile up on Ebay? If so did you email them to see whats going on? Save and print out any contacts or info you have on this person. Ebay should be able to get the name and info (if the person didnt use a fake one) for u. Then I would proceed with a lawsuit....Im not sure if this person will go to jail, but if they scamed u, I am sure there are others, then he/she may go to jail. Good luck..

you could try filing a lawsuit
provided that
A you can trace the person responsable: most ebay stores are nameless corporations that are impossible to track down.
B Its actually their fault: sometimes these things can go "missing" during transport.
C he is living in your country: technically it would be possible to sue a foreigner but for such a low amount you'll probably spend more money on lawyers and legal fees trying to bring him to court+ there's no actual way to force him to pay up afterwards!!
you could normally get his account on ebay blocked so he couldn't sell anymore. |

Poor girl... expensive lesson. Do you now know that you can buy a brand new one for 700.00 or less?? Try like hell to get them!! Of course you can file a lawsuit!! Be persistent!! If you get the bastard you will feel much less stupid. |

The odds are you are not the only victim and the seller could be liable for grand theft depending on the dollar volume of all claims. Start with PayPal. They have surely run into this before and can direct you what to do. How much would insurance have cost on a $985 item? Please consider taking insurance to avoid this kind of hassle in the future. |
