Never shoped there, never will. But my neighbors are U.A.W. workers, and every Friday Evening they come home from shopping with handfulls of wal mart bags. Whats wrong with this picture! Dont they think there burning there own bridges! I market products, and wont cater to wal marts practices. I also really detest wal-mart.
I grew up in a small town and watched all the wonderful eclectic and interesting gift shops slowly dry up when Wal-mart came into town. Tourism has really slowed as well, because tourists don't want to go to wal-mart, they want the small neat shops.
I now live in Salem, Or. and the Wal-mart on Lancaster Dr here is disgusting. Dirty enviornment, hostile workers, a large portion of the stock is missing off the shelves ( So i only get 1/2 my grocery shopping done), and on peak hours you can expect to spend 55 minutes in a line.
Yes...55 minutes. I timed it.
My food was thawed by the time I got to the front. And it wasn't due to lack of registers, there were probably at least 4-5 closed registers. Wal-mart is just too greedy to hire more people to run more registers... good grief, it just MIGHT cut into the profits!!! Oh NO!!!
Sorry Wal-mart is not Disney land. Waiting 55 minutes to get through a line is really really stupid.

I agree with the other writer. Those chinks working in those sweat shops have no other options. However, wal-mart is a dump. Cheap prices for cheap products. The economy sucks; walmart is highly desirable to those in the lower class. Who cares, they will go outta business soon and Lee Scott will die |

I understand what you are saying but hey, wal mart is cheaper than most other places. I need good quality stuff at the best possible price and I work hard for my money.
I could afford to go somewhere else (though earlier in my life things were alot tougher) but I'm not going to. Yes, I want to buy american and help out american workers to a point but I also want stuff at the best price I can get it. Also, personally I think unions were great and necessary many years ago but now they do this counrty more harm than good.

Just because you can afford to shop other places dosen't mean the hole world can. I shop at wal mart because that is what i can afford. My friend works at wal mart because that who would hirer her so she could take care of her kids. Everyone bad mouths walmart but if they werne't around were would all those people work Not at small markets because they don't hire people unless they need them and they are small places so they cna't afford to hire more then a few people. Walmart may have sucky work envirment and they may be taking business away from others but if they weren't around there would be more homeless and children without food. So lay off. If you don't like them don't shope there but leave others alone. Damn so tired of people forceing there opions on everyone else you have yours i will have mine. |

I have to disagree with you, I like wally world. I was just there today Hoooraaay. They have good prices and everything you will ever need.
As far as there sweat shops, they pay better than any other sweat ahops. and besides those people were going to work there anyways. Get over it and get a life. Stop wasting time talking about a company that will probably and hopefully not go away and find a way to become succesfull your own self instead of wasting away your years saying "wal mart sucks because ,, they, they have big stores and steal chinese imigrants to work on the cashiers. it doesnt even make sense most of this stuff that you guys acuse them of. |
