If it makes you feel uncomfortable absolutely don't do it. He should not be offended if you are honest and explain you don't feel comfortable doing it.
I'm not exactly sure about the circumstances or why it might be inappropriate but even the impression of unethical behavior should be avoided at all costs.
If it is inappropriate your employer won't care that you told him no at first, you are responsible for your own ethical behavior, no one can force you to be unethical.
