I am a co owner of a company and I just found out that my business partner asked to be paid cash on a job and he turned into the business $530 less than what he was paid on the job. I found out when I sent the lady a paid in full receipt for the job and she called to let me know that there was an error. This is the only time we have been paid in cash. What do I do now? |

Discuss it with your partner, maybe there is a reasonable explanation or banking error? If not, either offer to buy him out or have him buy you out. Otherwise when it comes tax time, if the figures don't add up, the IRS will come after both of you.

Make sure you ask your business partner first before accusing him/her of anything. When you do this have all of your facts(ducks) in a row so you don't look like you are at fault. I know that lying, or mistruth, is a common occurance in business, but make sure you look at all sides first. |
