I just got fired...how to deal with it?
I worked as a cashier for a large Canadian company....While I was working, I would always hit "void" and "total" on certain products....i had three complaints filed by customers I was unaware about (except I figured out this one couple filed a complaint because I forgot to use their coupon for fifty cents off of something at the exact time my manager gave me a nasty talk). A little over two weeks my human resources manager fired me (after her two week return from vacation). All in all, I don't think my manager had a problem with me. But my supervisor did. No one ever told me that voiding all products to start over would be a big mistake, because while training, that's what one of my supervisors did...No one even told me that people were complaining about me. I felt that I got the basics down, and my coworkers said I was doing fine. And I just think my supervisor didn't like me for personal reasons. Anyway, point is, i got sacked. How do I get over it? I feel very disposable.

...see the problem is that you already SIGNED the paperwork when they fired you, by doing that you "agreed" to what they were fireing you for, i know how you feel, that happen to me once, now, what is left to do is start a fresh begining. look for a BETTER job in every sence of the word, soon after that you will see that them fireing you was the best thing that could happen to you!

Forget them!

Find another job!

I've been fired before--essentially the company made the job so bad for me that I had to resign, but it was in essence a firing. It was emotionally very devastating.

I licked my wounds for a while and tried to pamper myself a bit. Then I got my resume in order and found a good job at a company that had excellent benefits and treated their employees well. I ended up so much happier than where I had been.

You just need to take care of yourself to get over the emotional blow that you just got, think on your past job to see if there are lessons that you should take into your future career, and then press on.

Depending on your financial situation, I would try to give myself a few days at least to get my head back on straight for job search. I've found that I need to be "pumped" and feeling very confident to run the hurdles of all those interviews!

Best of luck!

Though the rejection of being fired usually doesn't feel very good (and there are exceptions), the truth is that being fired from a bad job is just as fortunate as being hired for a good one. Both events will keep you moving in a good direction: forward.

Get your resume in shape and go find a better company to work for.

Obviously they had poor training and management. You deserve better.
