I just watched a documentary about the evils of Walmart?
i don't have anything against Walmart. How do you feel? Would you like Walmart to move to your town?

When Sam Walton first founded Walmart, I think he had a good idea for providing american made goods at low prices. He did fail to think of the situation that it would place small shopkeepers, because his concern was for the consumer. As most people know after his death his family had one great concern, just how much money they could get out of the people who shopped, and how many corners they could cut to keep more (including shipping jobs overseas so they could pay the workers less). Personally, I am not real fond of Walmart, although I can find things I need cheaper there, and sadly enough there are three Super Walmart stores within an hour drive of my house.

WalMart provides many jobs to loser that otherwise would not work.

They also make things cheaper for us to buy.

Their true evil is the fact that they ran American suppliers out of business and moved all their suppliers to third world countries.

Back during the last big recession, (early 90s) WalMart and the car companies ran ads every two minutes touting "Buy American".

Funny, even though the need sales you don't see the ads now.

Want to know why? Because thanks to WalMart and most major manufacturing corporations, an entire segment of our society has been plunged from working class to dirt poor.

That is yet another reason why this "fiscal downturn" hasn't even started yet.

Buy local, buy American and quit supporting the mega-corporations that are raping our country in the name of a buck.

Every dollar you spend at WalMart, most of it goes directly to China.

Nice isn't it?

I don't have anything against Wal-Mart really. Some of what some of documentaries say are correct, but I feel that a lot of what they say about the company are things that could be said about the retail environment in general. Sure they don't pay people a lot of money, and they have most people part time so they don't have to give benefits, and they cut hours if it's slow, but so do most retail places, at least the ones that I've worked at before, and the ones people I know have worked at. The point is that Wal-Mart makes small businesses close down because customers are looking for something at the lowest price and Wal-Mart can give it to them. Most people (myself included) are more worried about their own pocket than supporting a local small business if it means they have to pay more, and so Wal-Mart gets a lot of customers.

smiles...nahh id rather waste my money in more expensive grocery stores especially with as bad as the economy is...okay first of all walmart is not perfect....second people love to trash walmart but choose to ignore the good things walmart does for both the enviroment and its customers...the link below will show you what walmart is doing good.okay as far as mom and pop stores going under..i understand how they feel, but walmart used to be one of those mom and pop stores too (second link) as far as those anti walmart websites...some of them are owned by unions,of course they would like nothing more for walmart to be unionized...so we cant speak for ourselves ,and have to only help customers in our own area or ask permission from the union boss to help in another area..guess who would suffer...the customer...walmart makes mistakes ,and it isnt perfect.but walmart makes no apologies for putting the customer first and why should they? the customer is paying our checks.
