I lost money in the office and the staff are my suspects. How to deal?
I am a manager with one staff. She is the only person who regularly enters my room although she is seated outside because our department's printer is inside my office. Last Saturday, i realized Im missing a few hundreds. Based on my calculations, i must have lost in either friday afternoon or saturday morning AT THE OFFICE. Based on gathered facts from other office staff, she is the only person they've seen to enter my office where I keep my bag and wallet (the money is in a safe secret pocket which I think she saw qwhen I gave her money to buy some thigns fro the office). After some research as well, I found out that her former boss, the head of finance, lost money thats why she was recopmmedned to transfer to another department (im head of communications). I was also told taht upon her arrival in our office area, a staff from the nextdoor department lost money too. They all suspect its her. Now everything is pointing at her. Talked to her twice today and askd hr2 confess
Interrogate her like Jack Bauer, have no mercy and don't stop interrogating her until she squeals.

Are there any security cameras which may have recorded the thief? I'm not sure what you can do without any concrete evidence, but I would suggest you keep your bag locked up while at work; lock your office door if you have to whenever you leave the room.

toughie. you can't do anything to her without proof - then it's both a gross misconduct and criminal matter. no proof = no go.
without proof, any action you take will earn her more money from a tribunal.
contact the police. let them interview her using the correct procedure...you cant put a foot wrong then.

Call the police.
If they think she did it, they will arrest her.
The facts are though, that you have a lot of supsicions and no real evidence.
"Everyone is pointing at her", maybe even the person who really lost it.

I think that if you already talked to her..m,aybe you should wait...so in this case if she is guilty....there will be no other missing money...but if she is sincere and opened...maybe try to find out why is she doing this? Maybe she is in a need of some sort. Maybe you can help her change....who knows.?
