According to Datamonitor, there are at least 3 weaknesses:
1) Litigation since they have been accused of racially biased hiring practices by the Equal Employment Opportunity commission in Aug. 2006;
2) Geographic Concentration since they operate only in the U.S. while companies like Walmart are global; and
3) Lax quality control since they procure their products from numerous vendors and thus have little quality control. This can be seen in a number of recalls that occurred, such as activity cart toys in April 2007 which was a choking hazard for children and toys containing lead paint back in Nov. 2006. They say that frequent company recalls are indicative of lax quality controls, which in turn hurts the company's image by lowering consumers' confidence loyalty.

Yeah, I just studied SWOT so I'll give it a swat ;)
1. Quality of goods - compare them with higher end stores
2. Display and visual merchandising
3. Depth and width of goods on shelf
4. Location - is it at a bustling place?
5. Service - did anyone tell you Target has top notch service?
6. Growth prospects - is target thinking of hitting bigger grounds?
7. Competitions from other stores - advertising: less aggressive?
8. Target market - comprising of mostly switchers or loyal customers? How do you get customers to target Target, and only Target?
