I wasn't sure if you meant in everyday life or specifics so here's a few everyday life customer service skills:
If someone asked you to mail something and you sent the item promptly, followed up to let them know that you'd mailed it and then called again to make sure they received it.
When asked for advice or giving instructions, you're able to give it clearly and without frustration. You make sure that the person understands what you've said.
You are able to solve problems effectively and never panics or become erratic from the pressure of the problem.
You call people when you say you're going to call them and if you aren't able to talk during that time, then you'll let them know approximately when they could expect another call from you.

Just think of any situation where you have gone out your way to do something for ANYONE. Interviewers like to hear storys where you have helped someone and weren't even getting paid to do something kind, that way they think that good morals are installed into you.

Good customer service is when you delight customers. When you make an extra effort not just to sell them a good product but also to make them feel they are welcome or that they are special. These makes customers come back to you and they serve as your free advertisers.
Examples depend on the type of industry. Sometimes mere smiling and being attentive is already good customer service. Offering assistance is good customer service. Giving complementary drinks and other freebies is good customer service. Going out of your way to help the customer with his concerns or complaints is also good customer service. Making things easier for the client like offering them seats, providing fast service, giving honest to goodness advise on how to help them make decisions, and other actions that will make clients happy doing business with your company, are all examples of good customer service.
In fact, during your interview, i bet the interviewer will already rate your personality and look for indicators that will reveal your good nature. Though there are training for good customer service, sometimes - its in the nature of the person to provide genuine customer service. Its the service that comes from the heart. It is the kind of concern not only to the customer but for the good name of the company. |

ok, have you ever experienced a deaf customer, or a foreign customer.
this is a good example, if you were selling something and you couldnt understand twhat the customer wanted, how did you deal with this?
did you walk around the shop and let the customer pint the items out to you? did you use pictures to help them understand? did you have an interpreter?
i have never experienced anything like that personal;ly in my work, but it seems that would be a good way to say you have good custmore service, by meeting all their needs. |
