get a coffee/cappichino maker and practice with it - you'll be ahead of the rest that way :)

Here's a tip: $7/hr, @ 15 hrs starting = $105 week gross = $ $80 take home per week. $320/ month barely pays for your car payment and gas to get to work.

Get a better job. Tip of the day. YAYY!

Starbuck's will give you all the training you need. However, part of the training includes sampling all their items, so if you don't like coffee that may be tough.
Starbuck's is a great company to work for and a great stepping stone to start your resume with.

Pierce your nose and eyebrows, put on black eyeliner and die your hair blank. Look depressed and don't wash your hair for several days. That seems to be what the workers at my Starbucks all have in common.

As a former store manager...it's all about how you present yourself. You've got to be smart, talkative, impressive, (neat) and definitely trainable.

Are you just looking for a job while you're in school or are you looking for future development? (are you 18? they don't hire if you are less than 18)

Just be honest in whatever question they ask you...I had never even had coffee when I went for my interview and simply said I was willing to learn about it and discover what the allure of it was...

BTW: Starbucks has great FULL benefits for people who work only 20 hours a week...including domestic partnerships...and they start you well above minimum wage...plus tips...my store averages $1.95 an hour in tips a week.

honesty gets you far...and if you don't get hired at one store...go to the next one...and plaster the area with your app...they are always looking for good people...good luck.
