I registered my debit card on Paypal for ebay....?
and i was wondering if they automatically take the money out of my debit card? Or how exactly does that work? I only plan on selling items, not buying. Thanks

if you plan on only selling, then, once you sell something, monthly ebay sends you an invoice which you will have to pay (via paypal).
Once you "agree" to pay the invoice, then they will pull it from your acct.
They will not "automatically take anything"

I don't think that they take out the money automatically.

As you may know it cost some money to sell things on ebay. Once your item is sold, Ebay will then automatically withdraw the money from your account within 5-7 days after the sell.

:-)

They will deduct their fees from your debit card--automatically.

I would advise that you use a credit card, instead. Using the debit gives them direct access to your bank account .

They can or you can deposit money in your paypal account. I usually just let them charge my bank account.

As a seller, you are liable for Ebay fees every month, listing fees and final valuation fees.

Also if you have a Premier PP account, you are liable for 3.4% of EVERY payment you receive.

Either of these could come from your debit card, particularly if you set up a DD mandate to ebay. Don't do it!!!! I have sold on ebay for about 6 years now and never had one - always pay mine by one off payment when I get the invoice.

Good luck

DennistheMenace
not sure on the selling, end. know all about buying, though.......

Tax Attorney
There are two kinds of fees that you need to distinguish between:

(1) eBay seller fees
(2) PayPal seller fees

If you have registered your card with eBay and PayPal, then eBay will charge your card on a monthly basis for your eBay seller fees that are due, unless you make a manual payment.

Your PayPal seller fees are not paid from your debit card. PayPal seller fees are deducted from payments that you receive from your buyers. When you receive a payment on PayPal, it will show the total amount paid by your buyer, and the amount of fees deducted by PayPal. You can then withdraw this amount from your PayPal account to your regular bank account.
