Go to your bank and they will give you the address of who they use to check people out. They will give you any evidence held against that address.................. |

There is no such thing as a blacklist.
If the person who lived there before you had a credit problem the following steps will ensure that this does not become a problem for you.
1) Get on the electoral roll. You don't have to wait for the form that comes round once a year, contact (phone or e-mail) your local authority and ask for a form to go on the electoral roll mid year. This will show creditors that the previous tenant is no longer at the address.
2) Return all mail that arrives for the old tenant to sender. Simply strike through the address on the envelope, and write 'GONE AWAY RETURN TO SENDER' on the envelope. This will mean that the address and the name of the previous occupant will gradually be removed from mailing lists and databases.
3) Make sure you advise all the people YOU owe money to of your new address. This will ensure that you have 'good' active credit at the address. Modern credit providers no longer give the address a 'score' when underwriting new credit, just the person, so the more good credit you have the better for you.

Addresses and People can get put on the blacklist, if the person who lived at ur house b4 u had bad credit history then it mite reflect on u. U can check ur credit record at www.creditexpert.co.uk, there u will be able to c if and why u have been refused credit, and clear it up if it isnt relevent to u! |

You need to write to the credit companies to check, it cost you around £3 but will tell you everything. If it does show bad credit for the previous owners then all you have to do is call them and explain you are the new owner and the bad credit does not belong to you. You can do it online now as well. Equifax is one of the companies who will tell you. |

Its a combination of surname and adress that gets bad credit rating, there is no such thing as a blacklist.
if you have a fairly common surname you might be stuck being mistaken for someone else, but you can do something to "ids-associate" yourself with another person. Talk to Experian or one of the other credit reference agencies. |

It's never your ADDRESS that is blacklisted. If you are being refused credit it may be for a number of reasons, like you've got a previous bad credit rating or you may have recently moved and may not yet appear on the Electoral Register. You can check your credit report for free on the net with Experian |
