I was physically and verbally abused by my boss the CEO. I had to go to his boss the senior VP to get out of that atmosphere and put somewhere safe. It was 6 months ago when I went forward and stuck up for myself, but now they are starting to mess with me. First they refused to give me a performance evaluation, and there for did not give me a merit increase for fiscal year 07. How can I fight back on the merit increase? |

Call your local labor board and have them investigate the reasons you were not given a merit increase. |

Whenever you mess with those that are higher up in your company you can expect this kind of treatment. It does not make it right but the Republicans have set up an atmosphere where the employer is always right and they get away with anything that they want to do. If you like this job I suggest that you lay low otherwise find a new job before you quit this one it does not sound like you will have much of a future at this place. Good luck! |

When you're a victim of physical violence, the people to contact are the police not your boss' boss. Did your abusive boss face any penalty for his actions or were you just moved to a "safe" place. I'd suggest contacting the labor relations board and any other work related entities, do some homework on your rights and the companie's responsiblities. If you were able to discuss the abuse with a SrVP, perhaps talk to that individual again after educating yourself on your legal options. By simply moving you when this incident happened, they may have been attempting to cover their butts instead of dealing with an abusive CEO and their liabilities because of his actions. You may have to get a lawyer and pursue legal remedies. |

Did you file a police report about the original incident? If not, you're probably SOL.
Here's why: you can see that you are now being retaliated against (no surprise, CEO is high on the food chain). Others will have noted this if they didn't know it already so no one will be a witness for you and this long after a lawyer would make mincemeat of them anyhow and they know it.
You are being told that they do NOT want you with their company any more.
This is the tip of the iceberg. It will get worse.
What can you do?
Look for another job.
The odds of being able to prove this is near nil and I'm sure you did NOT file a police report--there would be a comment about what the investigation resulted in I suspect if you had.
You will also NOT want to say this is what went down when you interview later on with others because it's going to end up working against you. That's just the way it works.
I'm sure some lawyer would be willing to take your case and charge you bucks but you're not going to walk away with anything for this in the long run and they can drag this out for years.
