and they use and abuse, I can't take it no more and I can't quit because I need the job to support myself and husband. The assistant manager and dept manager has me running around doing a million things at once while I cover fitting room and customers making a mess making my job more difficult!

I have been with the company for three years, the vacation time sucks you get one week paid vacation after thwo years, when I got married they gave me a hard time taking 5 days off! |

Yep, that's what they do. Throw you in each dept. making you cover breaks, cashier, do whatever they want. They also like to have it so one or two workers have to cover all of hard lines. I remember once in my walmart days they had me covering over 8 different departments, including pets, hardware, lawn and garden and sporting goods, it was complete hell. |

Use and abuse are two different things. They are allowed to use you. They pay you so that they can use your time and efforts. If they are abusing you, (making you work and not paying you or such) you should report them. If you need the job, you are unfortunately obligated to work at what they need you to do weather you like it or not. Barring them asking you to do something that is illegal. |

Sounds a nightmare. With all that rushing round you had better be careful that you don't slip or injure yourself in some way.
Sounds very stressful too - the stress alone could put you on the sick for ages.
As far as I recall Walmart does not allow unions - is that right?

Hi,
Just start looking for another job in your spare time. If it makes you feel better I have boycotted Wal-Mart because of the way they treat their employees. I did this after I watched a special on Showtime.
