of coming up with some in office ideas to boost moral - now the old Bingo, Lottery and friday cookies has been done a plenty - i need something that will really knock their socks off without taking up too much time & company money. BBQ/fun day - it's the summer coming up? Hire a bouncy castle and plenty of booze - sell tickets to re-coup some of the money. Ten pin bowling or a quiz? However, you will find people who moan - you can never please everyone so don't take it too much to heart! |

Set up an ideas board. Everyone is asked to suggest one idea a month. Every month the best idea gets a couple of cinema tickets, whether or not it gets implemented by management.
This beats most team and moral activities because it is a stock and a carrot for both management and workers. the team are forced to consider positive ideas (No - people are not encouraged to make anonymous suggestions).
With good ideas being made public, and publicly recognized as being of value, then there is then pressure on the managment to implement at kleast some of the good ideas. |

have a casino day. There are companies that will do everything and provide what you need. You can have chips and the top chip holders get prizes. Also for food have a buffet, like the casino. You can also have this catered or have everyone bring a dish. Good Luck. |

How about some sort of contest? Like, a best joke contest (particularly if they could be jokes about your line of work?) with a fun but inexpensive prize (dinner for two somewhere, for example). A dress-down day or even a jeans day if it's appropriate. Some kind of pool - related to sports or when someone's going to have a baby (celebrity if no one in the office). |

Get some office goldfish. It gets people talking together, and really gets soft communication going. My office look after my goldfish when I am on holiday. The goldfish sent us a postcard! |

If moral is that low the company has a problem! Its going to take more than games to boost everyone out of the doldrums, especially if they have low pay and job insecurity. Or a 12 hour overnight shift.
How about telling everyone that thanks to their hard work they have secured their jobs for the next 6 months?
Give everyone an appraisal and tell them something they do well so they know its been noticed.
The company could try treating staff like responsible employees instead of big kids needing entertainment...good luck with it! |
