I work at IBM through Manpower. Nope that isn't illegal at all, you don't have to go back to work for them...
Dude down there, you can't sue IBM if you aren't even an IBM employee, besides, it's in no way illegal to lay off a contracter and offer them a DIFFERENT contract position with the same company at less an hour.... |

I think they can hire at whatever wage they want, because you weren't an employee. Hopefully the benefits will be better to help make up for the difference. Not saying it's right, just that it's legal. |

I can barely understand your question but anyway, I think you are saying you worked for IBM through another company and were paid $13.45 an hour for the last 2 years.
It looks like they laid you off.
Now they are saying they're hiring at a different location for $8.95 per hour.
Sounds legal to me. |

It may not seem fair, but it is not against the law. The last thing a company like IBM would do is break some employment law that could end up costing them BIG BUCKS.
Why is it that when things don't always go our way, we think there should be a law against it? As far as I know, any employer can adjust pay scales up or down. There are few guarantees in life -- for most of us! |
