Nothing is wrong. 4-2=2 is correct. Proven, take the answer which is 2, and add the same number that subtract from the number 4, which is 2, and you will get the answers which is 4. That number should be the same as the orginal number before it get subtract.
Example:

If you are not asking this in mathematic arena, it would take a nobel price winner and half of his life to prove that to you. Obviously, in the nature, one plus one seldom equals two. For instance, one neutron hit one atom will generate more than just two neutrons. Two cars crashed equals to none. In a philosophical way, one plus one is powerful than one, fous minus two only might not always equal two. In the line of battle, when two soldiers fled, other two are more than likely fled too.
The imprint of our mind had told us always to use minus sign for a negative action, which we associate with a lot of bad and unfortunate things. So in normal person's first sight, one plus one always looks better four minus two. So we are more than likely choose 1+1=2. |
