ha ha, I work at a convienience store, a 24 hour one. So I'm going to be the only person to actually tell you why, Because if they get robbed, they are to lockdown. That's about the only reason.

Good question. I managed 7-11's for 5 years. The reason there are locks on the doors is so the clerk can work in the cooler or back room while the store is open. Additionally, there are times, such as during repairs, floor stripping (wax), power outages, or unforseeable emergencies when it would be necessary to lock the doors.

In case they have to close for an emergency or if the overnight clerk has to spend an extended period of time in the cooler, not watching the door.

there r locks for security purposes or suspected violence and burdlaries. also just in case a store clerk needs to leave the store for a reason.
