I like Target. I think their stores are set up a lot nicer than WM. WM reminds me of K-mart. I think the people @T tend to be nicer and the Super Ts have a nicer grocery store set-up.

Actually most people like having a Walmart to shop at. The downside of Walmart is their arrogance, disruption of the status quo (many people hate change), Walmart's tendency to replace quality products with cheaper Asian junk (most of us buy it and drive out the quality), their large operation creates noise and traffic congestion (particularly for the unlucky rural dweller next door), small businesses that are unable to compete (Walmart would be wise to help these guys find their niche). |

Good question! Walmart is the future of shopping for the masses |

You mentioned more economical - this could be a good reason. Different people have different reason/s.
Walmart is just like any other super or hypermart. Normally people shop to get stuff for their home. Probably people shop in Walmart because they got everything under one roof.
Believe it or not most do it unconsciously - People do shop because it gives them the power to buy something or in control, relieve stress, window shopping ...etc
Having said that Walmart strategic intend and values are acceptable by more people than other super/hypermarkets |

I know for us out pocket book doesn't match up with our moral sensibility. I'd love not to shop there i think they're business practices are deplorable but honestly we can't afford not to shop there and we're both degreed middle class folks. |

Because they come in and take over a town, forcing all the small businesses out. Unless you want to drive for an hour or two there is no where else to go. |

SNAP!

i shop at wal-mart, tho i am always unhappy with the customer service.....i shop there because the prices are so much lower than anywhere else (and due to health conditions i am not working right now)...and also because they have just about everything i might need all in one place (once agian, due to health conditions it's hard for me to go to a-lot of different places) |

Wal-Mart carries everything. If you are a single parent and you need lunch stuff for the kids, need to get a some curtains, and some fast food for dinner, Wal-Mart takes cares of all the needs. It's the one stop shop. |
