When two big companies merge they usually keep their names because each company have achieved so much fame and fortune so why change it? They will published their unity and promise everyone that now is better than ever but it usually stays the same.

Microsoft.

Microsoft is like the Borg. Resistance is futile. They acquire things and absorb them. Yahoo is valued at about 20% of the value of Microsoft. The bigger fish will eat the smaller fish. Microsoft will probably keep the Yahoo name around and continue to take advantage of any profitable services. This place will still be called "Yahoo! Answers."
