I'm sure his stock options are still in effect, plus he received a multi million dollar signing bonus when he was hired two years ago.
I think Alan Mullally has done an excellent job in restructuring the Ford Motor Company.

i don't know the answer, but its pretty sad that he can make 1$ a year and he will probably still live VERYYY comfortably because of how much he made this year and the previous years. |

No. He will get $1. Like most CEO's of top companies, he is already wealthy and doesn't need to be doing this for the money. He is doing it because he is driven by ambition. It's not about the money for people like this - money is just the way to keep score of their success. If he can turn the company around, that will be his reward. |

Stock options, chauffeured driven Lincoln, plush office, free lunch in corporate executive cafeteria, corporate jet (the same he used to fly to Washington and beg for money), huge tax write off, interest on the 20 million he got last year, his current stock, his place in line as this weeks leading martyr, Hank Paulsons never ending gratitude (and, most likely, a job for ole Hank at a Ford dealership near you). |

Funny! I just asked the same question!!! No kidding! Honey, let me tell ya, if he works for one dollar you can bet your last buck he will be grossly overcompensated with stock options bonuses and the like. These people feel they are entitled to so much more than anyother life form on the planet it's sickening. God help them the greedy pigs. |

he spends almost a million dollars a year flying his family between Detroit and Seattle at company expense.
But he doesn't make $1 a year... he's just offerred to. |

yes. he gets millions of dollars by shares in that company and is an active partner of it. 1$ is just his salary not his annual income. |

It makes me mad. They appear to be very humble by saying they will earn only $1 per year. This puts them a poverty level, at which they may receive food stamps and all kinds of other benefits. It also means they will not be taxed.
Why can't they just set a reasonable salary for themselves? If the President of the USA makes $400,000 per year, why can't the CEO of Ford set something around $200,000 for himself? Then he'd be taxed like the rest of us. It's all about motive, being selfish, self-centered, greed, and the all-mighty loop hole. |
