If you were a client of a PR firm, would you be happy or offended to get cookies as a thank you gift? I have?
a really great client, which is rare. The cookies would just be to perk up her day and say Thanks. Would it be wrong to send her something and to no one else at the company? Might she even take it the wrong way?
You may want to send a "general gift" to all clients to tell them you apperciate their decision to use your firm. It makes good business sense. For the special client, tell her one on one or give her a little something extra in person. Also let her know it's extra. It communicates your appreciation for her more effectively.

I think gifts show that you are thinking of someone. The best gifts are from the heart (homemade cookies) If the person is overweight and on a diet than the cookies would not be a good idea. As far as sending to other people in the company it would depend on the circumstances. You could send some to the client and also some for everyone else if you like.

Any gift of recognition would be appreciated, I think. They're not cheap imitation Oreo-knock-offs, are they? ;)
Failing that, I'd think bagels and coffee that she could share with colleagues could address the question about possibly excluding others at her company.

I'd be pleased. And office workers enjoy having sweets and baked goods sent to them.
