diablo.x | Imminent recession? |
Is recession imminent, the government keeps playing it down by manipulating figures, but working for a steel stockholding company I see a different story there is so little work we are twiddling our thumbs nearly every day and its been like that for a while and getting worse all the time has anyone else seen a dramatic loss of work . Just cant get an accurate picture from the government. |

the government is trying to make it look like we're not in a recesssion so they can still get what they want in our tax dollars. We are in a recession and it's obvious in nearly every job in the U.S. |

Assuming you are in the UK sorry to be pessimistic but it is going to get a lot worse.
If you add up all the hidden debt (Northern Rock, PFI schools/hospitals repayments, Government gold plated pensions etc) the country is over-borrowed and bankrupt in simple terms.
Then add the £1.4 trillion owed by the population and we are double bankrupt.
One day the debt has to start being repaid! That day is very near!
As our society is now built on instant gratification and buying overpriced "branded" products when the crunch comes it is going to hit everyone. As people stop buying the shops/offices will close and unemployment will soar! It then becomes a domino effect.............
In simple terms do not believe anything the Government says! |

Save Money Guide

If we are not in a recession we are dangerously near it. Gordon Brown has over the last ten years consistently stated how prudent he was, yet he has failed to hold enough money in reserve to provide our economy with a safety net.
Last year the Government received £600 billion in taxes from us, yet still found in necessary to borrow a further £40 billion. This is totally irresponsible and profligate. Spend, spend, spend!
Unfortunately, this attitude towards borrowing has spread to the people of this country, with the Government making no attempts to discourage this attitude. The result is now clear for all to see.
Is it going to be difficult? Unfortunately I think the answer is 'Yes'.
If you have problems, take a look at the page below. |

I think we are in a recession now. It is a lot of factors that has led me to this conclusion. This is a bear market. Meaning prices are going up and jobs going down. |

Technically speaking, by definition, a recession can't be "proven" until after its over. If it started in December (which is what I think), it should start ending, hopefully, by June. Historically, recessions average between 6 months to 1 year in length, but can go longer.
recession
Definition
Period of general economic decline, defined usually as a contraction in the GDP for six months (two consecutive quarters) or longer. Marked by high unemployment, stagnant wages, and fall in retail sales, a recession generally does not last longer than one year and is much milder than a depression. Although recessions are considered a normal part of a capitalist economy, there is no unanimity of economists on its causes. |
