In your opinion, which company (any company) found in the last 20 years has the best original concept?
I am looking for the best original ideas that lead to a succesful business. Which business do you look at as an inspiring work of intellect and design. I am not looking for the things that were more luck than business. I dont care to hear about companies like Microsoft. I want companies more like ebay were a guy sits down and says this will change how we buy and sell products.

Who do you think is number one and why?

ex. Costco, American Apparel, google

Wlamart? That is way older than 20 years.

I do like Google as many nline firms have bown the success curve way out of proportion. As for the fastest road to the almighty buck: I give it to youtube.com. Not sure how long it has been in existence, but to sell for $1.65 billion?? WHOAAAAA NELLLLLYYYY!!!

Scaled Composites. Burt Rutan showed that you don't need a billion dollars or more to get to space. His work is leading to all new companies trying and vying for the lo-cost to orbit solutions and as they say, many hands make light work. Yes it still takes a dozen or so million venture capital to get ANYTHING like that off the ground both metaphorically and in reality, but he's proving its doable. I'm becoming confident I'll get to orbit in this lifetime and not because I'm an MIT grad or have a spare 20 million laying around.

I like Google. It was a simple idea, but everybody is now using it, and the founders have made a pile of well-earned money.
