Hey, I work retail. At my job sick day's are considered unexcused. It really sucks! I was in the ER ounce. They said sorry that's no excuse. Even with my doctor's note. ANYWAYS! 10 days is really ok. As long as your not late all the time and your good at what you do. I've missed about 10 a year. I've been at my work for 7 years. I always get raises and nothing bad happens to me. Hope you feeling better! Have a great holiday!

What is your company's policy on sick leave? 7 days in a year sounds pretty reasonable to me. There may be a perception problem if the 3 times were close together, but it you're sick, you're sick. Just have proper documentation of the illnesses in case someone wants to get pissy about it.

In Australia, an allowance of 10 sick days per year is the norm...if you're under that and they're all legit, then there shouldn't be a problem...

S[♥]W [Falling Flat On My Face]
Most places consider ten days to be the max.

Its borderline. Not horrible, but not great. I shoot for 0, usually end for with 1-2 days a year.

I worked for a large company. They only allowed the average which was 2.1 days per year. Yes, you were paid for the days (up to six) if you were sick but when you were appraised you received a lower appraisal which affected your salary. Even if you had the mumps or whatever you were still rated less than the person that had not missed any days or 1 day. Unfair you bet, but how do you fight that?

So, it is according to your company's policies.

I think it's pretty high. I run an office and the norm here is 2 days a year. If you are out more than that, they may pass you over for advancement, or consider you the first to let go if they are downsizing.

I hope you are not a new employee, because if you are the chances of them keeping you on are even lower.
