Well, if everything was made here you probably wouldn't be able to get it so cheap in the first place.

The reality is it's all about economics. If you've ever seen how the manufacturing business works in this country, you'd understand that companies here want to mass produce their parts as cheaply as possible and they can't do it locally because labor costs too much since they have to pay American workers fair wages...

That's why they ship it to China and have it sent back here because the cost savings are very significant. So whether China is good for America depends on whether you are a worker looking for a manufacturing job or a CEO trying to run a business and be as cost efficient as possible. So to answer your question, for some Americans, yes. To others, no. ;)

You're blaming this on China when it's the American capitalist companies that are okay with making as much revenue they can per cost, and willing to feed crap merchandise to the American public to do it?

It's not like China's force feeding the country those wares you know...

What a better question would be is: Are special interest groups and lobbyists good for America?

Because if it weren't for these people, we'd probably be pushing 40 mpg average and breathing at least relatively clean air.

well... in china, there are many cheap labor. but the factory workers, which is usually farmer, (not others) are not that educated. so....it is normal to have cheaper products, but lower quality.

plus, everything we buy here in america are actually the BEST products (expect for the foods) in China.

think on the bright side, at least they are less expensive to use. be happy. ^_^

China does not suck. It's a great country and it's going to be the manufactring plant for the rest of the world in less than 10 years. reasons are many. They have the latest manufactruing techniques and 'dirt cheap labour.(cost per day is less than a dollor)And when a compnay outsoures something to china, they make sure that it meets the quality constraints , not jus' savings..The biggest example is Apple Ipod. Has anyone ever complained about ipod not being in a proper shape or it breaks or similar ..? No ...and mind you my frined.... the world is going flat, there's going to be stiff competetion from countries like China (Manufacturing, hardware) India (Software, BPO/KPO...)and brazil
Where are the Americans heading..

You can may be pacify yourself with your fellow members replies... But reality bites...Think out of the box and ask yourself this question ...." How often do you sharpen your axe..?(Copied from a best seller, not mine :- ) "Or may be do you hve an axe
