TheBsEr | Is Ebay trustworthy? |
Well like say if the seller is a company and it has like 99.3% positive feedback and like 22,000 points. Is it trustworhy to buy from them? Also, what if one of their listed item is like still at a price of 0.01 and theres only an hour left in the bidding. If I bid like 0.02, do you think they'll still give it to me? |

Ebay is the facilitator. You're asking whether this particular seller is trustworthy.
A feedback of 22000 means that at least 22000 DIFFERENT people have left positive feedback for the seller, saying that their transaction went well. If just one person leaves positive feedback many times, it only counts as one positive feedback entry, so you know that a 22000 feedback is a LOT of good transactions. Additionally, 99.3% of their feedback ratings have been positive. With over 22K transactions you're going to run into at least a few people who feel they have to complain about everything and leave negative feedback. And maybe there were a few transactions that didn't go well. But thousands and thousands did go well, which generally indicates a reasonably trustworthy seller.
If the seller has reserve on the auction (see if it says "Reserve Not Met" or "Reserve Met" in the big summary box at the top of the auction) then it means that they've set a minimum selling price (reserve) that must be met before they'll sell it to you. If there is no reserve or if the reserve has been met already, then whatever you bid will get you the item, if you win the auction. |

I have no problems buying off of Ebay. And unless they have a reserve on their item they have to sell it to you for the price that is the highest bid at the time.If there is a reserve it will say reserve not met by the bid price. What I do is go and look at the feedback of who ever I am buying from before I even bid on an item.I have bought from people like you described up above, and have had very good experiences. So It's all up to you weather you want to buy from them or not.I recently got a brand new computer mouse for .01 cause no one else bid on it,and it works great.so have fun.I have bought lots of stuff off of Ebay. |

I have benn on eBay for over 2.5 years. I have only had on problem in all that time, and i got my money back on that transaction, so really it was no harm done. Get paypal and you get buyers protection. I buy and sell all the time. ALWAYS READ FEEDBACK BRFORE MAKING ANY PURCHASE. If you don't like their feedback, simply don't bid. THere are MILLIONS of people on ebay. Follow their polocies and you are safe and protected with your $$.Always use paypal..... but some ebay stores require you to call and pay with your credit card. Most of those people have been on ebay for years and years and are trustworthy powersellers. SImply check the feedback. Feedback says it all. And Yes, if you are the winning bidder and there is not a reserve price then you win no matter what your bid is. I won 7 pairs of jeans for my son in one lot and paid $0.01 for them. Pretty good deal! |

I'm a seller & I can only speak for me. I offered 2 used Transformers at .01 each on only 1 guy bid on both. I kept my word and followed through and the guy got 2 transformers for .02 + $5.00 shipping. All sellers are different, but if you're honest, buyers leave positive feedback. Obviously the best ones are 100% positive, but that doesn't mean the 99.2% sellers are less trustworthy. It just means they got negative feedback due to shipping delays or the buyer was unhappy with the item. Hope that helps. |

Ebay is trustworthy... the sellers, they might not be... if you win, yes they will give it to you, if they don't you report them to ebay, and enough times ebay will close their account... |

That should be a trustworthy seller. How long has the seller been an Ebay member? If he has been a seller for a long time, then that it is also an indication that he is trustworthy. By the way, if you want to know a way to get some money back when you buy something from Ebay, then send me an email. |

If you are buying, you should check the seller's rating and feedback. If you see constently postive feedback, that seller should be reputable. Also, it is preferred to sign up and pay for all transactions with Paypal (Ebay's preferred payment system). This way you don't just give a check or your credit card accounts directly to somebody. You pay by Paypal and Ebay provides protections (like if you never get the item from the seller) when using this payment method. Finally, whatever the winning bid is when the auction time ends (no matter how high or low), that is the final price of the transaction. Just remember to always add the bid price and the shipping costs to arrive at the total cost of the purchase. Good luck on the bidding! |
