richard's question
Is Starbucks going out of business?
Somebody told my wife at her job that Starbucks was going out of business. I think it's a rediculous remark, but I just wanted to make sure if it were true or not.

Grandpa

Chaotic
Definatly not :) I just got hired there.

They are closing from 5:30pm to 8:30pm for training baristas =)

Shorty Doowap

I believe the there must've been a misunderstanding with the news on Starbucks lately...

http://www.starbucks.com/aboutus/pressdesc.asp?id=756

I believe this is what Starbucks was really trying to say.

honey9991
what I heard for one day I think it's tomorrow, for three hours they are updating their system , they will be closed for those hours.

Laka
HA! ha ha! Hahaha.
Whew.
Yeah right, like that would ever happen.

TrIIIsH
no, they have lot's of business. their practicly rolling in money.

i dunno but if starbucks keep putting stores up and spending spending spending money on stores and products, it is hard for the general public to pay enough for starbucks to make profit, becasue there are SOOO much money that is spent on stores and products. And in result they are losing money. So that remark may not be as ridiculous as it sounds.... :-/

Anniekd
No... if they did, there may be a nationwide emergency situation. I don't think all the little coffee huts could take the sudden onslaught of caffiene-withdrawal-crazed customers, personally.

I live near Seattle, and believe me, there's more than one on every corner in some places.

lostatpacific
I don't know about going out of business - but I did hear that they are getting rid of some of the lunch and breakfast sandwiches and making coffee their main focus - I guess they don't want to be like another McDonalds - just going back to the orginal coffee. I heard it on the radio.

grace M
I heard on the news that many are closing their doors tonight

but just for tonight

there would be more news coverage if that were the case

jenny<3
no way!

It would be nice if they did, and they were replaced by a company that actually knew how to make a drinkable cup of coffee.

Ferny
HELL NAW. THAT GUY IS CRAZY

Chancey's Mom
Of course not! They're one, if not THE, most successful coffe chains in the country.

Well, I heard from here say that they don't support the U.S. Troops.
But Starbucks going out of business is a bit strange, but nowadays in this economy, the coffee stocks can go KAPUT.

I wish they would close. I think it is a horrible waste of paper and money. Just make a cup of coffee at home. Starbucks is not only feeding the landfil issue but also contributing to obesity with those creamy drinks they offer. Its a waste of money for people that have nothing else better to do than get a cup of coffee with the name on it. Its sickening wasteful.

Figure up what one coffee is per day then the amount per month then over a five year period of time. Hell you could make a down payment on a car!

People that drink coffee from Starbucks are a bunch of lemmings. (followers)
