Is Starbucks worh working at?
Ive been offered to work at Starbucks and I am wondering if the pay is actually higher than minimum wage? If so how much(California)more? Is it easy to learn everything? Especially the drinks? Is it really worth it? It sounds fun but I would like an imput from someone...thanks!

Take it. If you don't like it, give your two weeks and quit. It's not like being offered the position of CEO or something - Starbucks has a semi-high turnover (because regardless of everything, it's still fast food) and you quitting won't cripple the company. Just chill out and take the job.

As for learning drinks - I've never worked at Starbucks, but I am a bartender. And there are a LOT more cocktail varieties than lattes; I picked it up quick - when you make one of something every ten minutes, you memorize it fairly fast.

If you need money, TAKE THE JOB!!!!

Minimum wage in Michigan is 6.95 an hour, not sure what it is in CA.

I've been applying for a "real" job for over 2 years with no luck. You should be grateful to be offered a job.

Enjoy the paychecks.

It depends on the area that you are working in. I work in the Sacramento area and the tips are not that good.

I have a guy friend who works at Starbucks in the LA area. He has regular clients that come in daily, know him by name and think nothing of dropping him a $5-$10 tip.

Some Stores go by the "Common Tips Rule".....this is where all tips are put in the same jar and then split at the end of each shift. This is not really fair, because if you have an outgoing personality and get to know your clients, they feel like they want to tip you personally. I know I do.

Before I accepted the job, I would ask your boss how they handle tips, and what percentage of the shift you actually will be working at the counter serving drinks to customers, because this is where the real money can be made.

Good luck to you.

YES - YES - YES - YES - YES

Starbucks is a WONDERFUL company to work for and I have never worked for them... They are GREAT to their customers, employees (from what I hear) and to their community!

Do some research.... I have heard great things about them!!!!!!! I'm drawing a blank as to where I read it..

TAKE THE JOB, if you don't like it, you can always QUIT! Something really tells me you should TAKE THE JOB!

Ask other employees, ask the managers what the 3 things they like most and least are, ask them if you can pose teh same question to another employee of your choosing! You can interview your prospective employer too.

GOOD LUCK

well as far as how much you're going to get paid, I imagine the person hiring you would have mentioned that. if they didn't, call and ask them. and I've heard it takes time to learn but it's fun.
