Is Tesco or Asda cheaper?
I usually shop in Asda. you see all these adverts on tv saying asdas the cheapest. but when i do my shopping it comes to 80-90 pound, then when i go shopping in tescos it comes to 70 pound? so i guess tescos is cheaper? anyone else feel this way too?
Additional Details
Yeah thats totally happened to me. I bourght something from tesco far cheaper than what it was selling at Asda, But yeah i do suppose they both cant have the same things at the same price.. One thing about asda for me if when i do get shopping from there, the food runs out of date very quickly. (scotch eggs)

I find Asda cheaper.

Marie C
i used to shop at Tesco but went to Asda's once and found them to be cheaper

moomoo
Asda is def cheaper...it does depend on what you buy, but they have also have far more buy one get one free offers on things, so will last twice as long!
If you buy exactly the same items at both supermarkets, Asda will come out cheaper!

Tesco - my mum shops there and we did this investigation with all supermarkets (summerfield & morrisons) folr the bbc we bough the exact same items, some were own branded but we bought exactly the same things and the cheapest came out wih morrisons then tesco t he nasda then summerfield :) tescos cheapest

amy
ASDA definitely - it's part of the WalMart family from America which is filled with cheap bargains!

Asda aare cheaper in theory, there prices are lower but not by much. However tesco will be cheaper at the end of a shop becasue they offer the better savings. They have more buy one get one free's, 3 for the price of two, half price this and £2.00 for 4 of those etc. So though they are more expensive in theory they offer better savings on everyday items that you won't see till you compare the bills for the same shop!

It all depends what you buy,of course if you buy a product with their name on it is cheaper, but in my case i have tried all supermarkets, and i still keep going back to Morrisons, its swings and roundabouts, what is cheap in one can be more expensive in another,so my advice is shop where you are happy,as what you gain on some things you loose on another

I would rather shop in Tesco even if it was more expensive. You get better stuff in there.

yeah i went to buy something from tescos on saturday and it was about £3.50. i then went to Asda later on and found that exactly the same product was £4.90! i dont think the item in tesco was on sale either...

toastandsausage
asda, but i think because all the prices in asda are so cheap, u buy more junk, and therefore spend too much. in tesco im always aware of how much dearer the prices are, and so buy only what i need instead of a lot of cheap crap

Dale H
Tescos.

Morrisons is even cheaper than Tescos, but their food isn't as tasty.

ASDA

rhythm-of-life
Asda. I find there's more variety at Asda too.
