Is Wal-Mart good for the economy?
I have to write a paper about it so please HELP!!!

Wal- mart is good for Wal-mart and the local government and tax base and that is all. that is really all. government supports anything that supports government. Wal-mart is terrible for people, for it's employees for the local economy, for the local community, it is an evil corporation that overhauls and destroys communities and perpetuates poverty and it treats people as the worst form of chattel.

I rarely shop Wal-Mart. They have turned it into a warehouse...kinda like a flea market. It started a trend because now my local grocery store has become a warehouse too with a bank & pizza stores in it. It use to be nice to run in a clothing store & grab something & go. Or a gallon of milk from Krogers. I avoid them both & go to pharmacys or convienient stores. I dont think its good for the economy because small business' cant compete with them. So I guess Im off to the Mall.

No. Wal-mart is not good for the economy.

First off, they undersell other companies. This leads to other businesses closing and workers losing income. Then, all that's left is Wal-mart.

They run ads for when people get their welfare checks, so that the people will run to walmart and spend their paycheck there.

Also, Walmart demands to pay a certain price for an item from a company. It used to be the other way around. A company with a product had offering prices for stores.

Not Walmart. They say what they will pay for a product.

What happens then, is that local manufacturers of items and goods are forced to take their manufacturing plants to other countries.

That means again, that US workers lose jobs.

So, no Walmart is not good for the economy. People need to think about their future and stop purchasing goods from Walmart.

This is my opinion. I shop anywhere but Walmart. I want workers in this country to be able to work as long as possible and not lose out by having their company move to a foreign country to produce the same product.

We will have ghost towns again--because of Walmart.

they used to be when they sold all American made products, but now they are buying from other countries cheap and selling high.....
Any company that uses out sourcing is hurting our economy....
