America would grow stronger economicaly if we purchased more goods from America, rather than overseas - as Walmart does, but Walmart provides Americans with many jobs. Do you beleive America would be healthier economically if there were no Walmart, or any other large coorporation dominating the industry? |

I think Walmart is bad for America. I think competition is always good for our economy. Walmart sets up in small towns, price gouges, puts all the locally owned shops out of business and then they are free to set their prices at whatever they choose.
Walmart does employ lots of people. They treat their employees terrible though. They are infamous for underpaying and giving no benefits. These employees are then eligible for Medicaid and other public assistance. I have no problem with people needing help. I have a problem with Walmart relying on American taxpayers to pay for their employees' health insurance.
I think America would grow stronger economically if we purchased more goods from America. The industries that make these goods are often (in America) living-wage paying jobs. They usually provide health insurance, retirement, vacation, union membership and many other benefits to their employees. People making more money, spend more money. People who have health insurance from their job aren't on Medicaid.
Another thing that bothers me is how the overseas workers are treated. They are basically enslaved and working for pennies an hour. But that's another topic, really. There's what I think. |

2 reasons. Wall Mart has been found paying immagrants less money than they deserve and less money than white people. Also, Wall Mart is ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! If we cut down 10% of the wall marts, we could build a lot more houses or have the money go to the poor. |

Start as a non-manager and go into management and you decide if they are good.
