YES and NO... There are two types of credit checks....
Not all inquiries that appear on your credit report affect your credit score. Inquiries that are made because of an application you made for credit are the ones that affect your score. These voluntary inquiries are the only credit inquiries that count towards your credit score.
Other businesses might check your credit report because they want to offer goods and services to you. Credit inquiries are also made by potential employers, businesses that you already have credit with, and yourself. None of these count towards your credit score.
Part of your credit score – 10% to be exact – considers the number of inquiries made for your credit report.
Inquiries on your credit report can indicate your risk as a borrower. Too many inquiries might mean that you’re taking on too much debt or that you’re in some kind of financial trouble and are looking for credit to help you out. Several inquiries can reduce your credit score. |

When you check your own credit it does not affect your credit score, per US fair credit laws. However if other companies pull your credit to determine whether to give you a loan or not, then yes that will impact your score.
If you worried about your credit score you should get a watch dog to protect it... and to bark when anything moves! That is-- if there are any changes on your report it will alert you right away -- I've been using myFico's credit tracker for a year now and it's been really helpful especially since i am ready to purchase a new home.
There's a 30-day free trial which you can see your credit score and it won't effect your score at all.

IF YOU ARE CHECKING YOUR OWN CREDIT IT IS CONSIDERED A "soft" HIT AND DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR SCORE! |

If there are repeated inquiries regarding your report than your score will drop.Just getting a report should be fine |

Your credit record will display every time you check your credit rating/record.
If you check it a whole lot, your beacon score will probably go down, because it's a sign that you've been trying to get credit from various people, or you're a little paranoid about it.
Plus, you'll get a BUNCH of junk mail and spam if you check your score a lot...credit offers appear by the drove to people who seem to be looking for credit offers.
But not the kind you'd want.
So do it within reason, once a year (more often if you suspect identity theft or you're disputing something on your record.) You don't want to look like you're too concerned about it...but at the same time, you want to know what's on there.
So limit yourself--all things in moderation. |

No. It has no effect on your score regardless of how often it is checked. |

I don't think so |

it's true
it affects you only if you do it very often---which is why you shouldn't open so many cards or allow others to check your credit score a lot because each time it is checked it is marked down----
it's a good idea to check it once a year to check for potential "credit thefts" |

It is slightly lowered. It is even lowered when a potential employeer has to run a credit check. |
