Is it Just me or is there anyone else out there that is angry that the company AIG, threw a $440,000.00 party.?
I say let those rich jack #%##@ use there own money to bail themselves out. one more thing, how come no one has gone to jail yet? This really pisses me off. Bush's oil is probably in jeopardy and this is why the Government is taking over and bailing out. Give me some feedback on this. Thanks
This is what happens when you let the government get involved in any thing. Wait this is just the start the $700Bil. is only going to add to more waste. The problem is not going to be fixed and we the tax payers are footing the bill. It's not Bush, Dem's or Repub's, it is the way that the elected government cares about you, it doesn't, just keep re-electing the same old self centered money grubbing people over and over. They will tell you what you want to hear and deliver nothing. There is not one person running for an office in Washington worth voting for.

Oh, I am thoroughly pissed! Am I surprised? No. These guys are all thieves, politicians and executives alike.
The ship sinks and the captains all save themselves and leave the crew to drown.

Somebody has to pay for the bubbly for the shareholder's party...

I don't think anyone needs to go to jail as there are plenty of people who were happy to bask in the benefits of these dodgy deals while the going was good - not just the bankers.
But I do agree that it does seem unfair that taxpayer has to bail out people who no doubt will remain extremely wealthy. I don't know what the answer is though because no-one has £700bn in their bank accounts - no even rich bankers!! Maybe Bill Gates can bail us all out! I expect it'll all settle down in a year or two and it'll just start happening again. boom/bust/boom/bust.....

The wilfully and grossly negligent financial institutions that are now costing us billions have been morally if not literally corrupt (probably that too) for decades, reporting false profits built on creative accounting and funny money and lining their own pockets along the way. The fat cat mentality is not going to disappear over night but it needs thrashing out of them.
The financial sector now deserves nothing more than severe and draconian regulation for bringing the world's economy to it's knees for no other reason than their own irresponsibility. Maybe even legal action taking against those at the top... that would ultimately also include governments too.

I take it that you're none too happy.
After rolling around the floor laughing my head off for five minutes, I can understand.
Equally here in the UK, the last funny financial thing I heard was that Kent County Council has £50million stuck in Iceland's banking system and can't get it out.
The whole banking system and the politics it supports needs a complete overhaul.
