No body likes a show off so be efficient and get your job done be helpful but don't try to make the boss see you all the time you will get a bad name and people will talk about you. You will be noticed if you are a good worker and it will be the right way to be noticed.

Depends what you hope to achieve. If nothing then stay in the background. It you want to improve your position then make yourself noticed in a good way.

A bit of both!
Make sure your achievements are noticed, but on a day to day basis just stay in the background and get on with your work, showing you can do it without fuss and supervision.

It depends on what you are aiming for - you'd need to be more specific about the situation. If you are aiming for a promotion then you'd want to be noticed, but if you are just trying to get along with awkward co-workers then you'd probably do best to blend in to the background.

Staying in the background won't get you anywhere but you don't want to be so noticed that you end up being a pain in the butt!

depends on your goals , what dpo you want to achieve and where do you want to see your self professionally. if you are happy being in the background and just doing your job, drawing the regular salary then its fine to keep a laid back and low profile. but mind you my friend this will get you no where. you may also be regarded as expendable. where as being noticed has its advantages to growth, success and it also makes you an asset to the organisation.
