walmart ..though ive never worked at kmart,we have had people who previously worked for kmart and are now at our store...and they tell us how much better it is to work for walmart. |

walmart is one of the best. they have an extensive benefits package available to employees and its rated in the top 5 for forbes as best companies to work for. plus there's a lot of room for advancement. their business structure is very solid and you can start out entry level and legitimately work up to management fairly quickly. k-mart doesn't have as great a track record and i don't think has been a top 20 employer for years if ever. |

I just started at wal-mart today. So far it seems like a decent place to work but the paperwork is killer. I just spent seven hours filling out paperwork, watching videos, and taking quizzes... and I have to try and finish the rest tomorrow. My god, is it a lot of work. I did play a broad game though (No, I'm not kidding) that was part of the training, I felt like I was a 6th grader again. I'm hoping that when this is all said and done it will be worth all of the paperwork I had to (and still do) fill out. On the plus side the starting wage isn't bad---$ 7.50 (MN)
I can't say I know much about Kmart, they never contacted me after I put my application in :( |

i work at walmart.
despite what people may tell you,it's a fine co. to work for.
it's very easy to move up the ladder. the benefits are quite good,& they are very flexible with scheduling.the do hire full time.
they do alot of charity work,& offer scholarships. |
