I work as an admin for medium sized company. I have noticed that my boss makes a lot of comments about my appearance. I tend to wear shorter skirts, a little above the knee, with stockings (hate pantyhose) and two or 2.5 inch heels. The last three years I have gotten big raises. I feel a bit guilty about it. |

It sounds like you are dressing professionally and attractive. If you feel good about what you are wearing then you are fine. I am sure your performance has a lot to do with a raise its not just the way you dress. |

If you boss makes comments about your appearance and makes you feel uncomfortable, that could be construed as sexual harassment.
Are you comfortable with the way you dress? I have one employee that I occasionally have to call into my office and tell her she needs to stop dressing like a "hoochie mama". She wears very short skirts and has her stomach showing. |

Sounds good to me. I dated and later lived with a lady who wore regular nylon stockings as you do and worked in a professional office environment in a middle management position. They had a dress code which specified no bare legs, sandals or sleeveless attire. There were 9 other women in her office. All of them got comments of one kind or another, mostly sincere compliments, but there was one guy who made comments from time to time which made some of the women feel uncomfortable, who eventually was fired for sexual harassment. You might consider lowering the hemline to below the knee. A lower hem is less suggestive, and it is bad form to show a stocking top, so a lower hem works. If your boss says things which make you uncomfortable, look into the sexual harassment thing. The office where my ladyfriend worked had a zero tolerance policy on that kind of thing, which was why the guy was fired. If in doubt, go a little more conservative. |

You can dress attractively without dressing suggestively. You may be asking for trouble by dressing in order to get compliments from your boss. He sounds like he needs a refresher on sexual harassment. |
