Is it possible to buy a entire companys shares and privatize it...and own 100% profit of it?

EconGal
Yes it is but that would take a lot of money. Plus I don't think you could buy them all at once. You would probably have to negotiate directly with other majority owners. There is a possibility that there is a rule about ownership and some other owners may not be willing to give up their shares. But basically yes. Some small businesses are a form of private corporation that are just owned by like two people. My family has an S-corp. The shareholders are just my mom and dad. Hope this helps.

Justin Thyme
Yes, it is done usually by companies though. In a takeover bid you offer a price per share amount that the shareholders will vote on and accept. Alternatively, you may buy up shares on the free market but you will have trouble gaining 100% ownership.

smartboy
no.. i think its not possible...

If you can find willing sellers. Nothing illegal unless it would create a monopoly, but difficult.

carterchas
Yes, theoretically.

If you have the money.

most Of The Time It Isn't Wize To Do That!!!

i Wouldn't. Thats Why Its Shares^

Anything is possible. I just learned that butt breathing turtles do exist! But possible doesn't mean doable. Even small cap companies have outstanding shares that would take millions of dollars to buy if you could get their owners to sell. Unless you are extremely rich and extremely persuasive, pigs will fly before you will corner the market on any but the tiniest of companies.

Yes it is. You need to have a large financial base to be able to pull off something like that. Warren Buffett is very famous for doing this. look at his purchase of Geico, Sees Candies, Nebraska Furniture Mart, etc.

You need to have a strong understanding of financial statements and so forth, so as to know weather or not you are purchasing a good solid company that will be profitable for you in the long run. Or a dud, that will just drain the money right out of your pocket.
