are you on your own, my friend is on her own and uses the shower every day, and works so is not using the loo
but more than 1 person it is not cheaper, if you have baths it is not cheaper, if you are in all day it is not cheaper,

YES .. my last year's water bill was for £171.50 == you are paying more than double that !
However I do not have a wife & kids ... if it's just you & the girlfriend/partner it should be similar to above ...
But add a couple of kids & I expect you will end up paying MORE on meter .. |

It has worked out a lot cheaper for me. It depends how much water you use. Obviously if you have chidren, you would be better off not having a meter. |

I live alone and have a water meter. I have a bath daily and I use the washing machine daily but I think it is a lot cheaper than when I had a house full of kids and a husband! |

It depends how many people are in your house. 2 people only lightly using the water will pay significantly less on a meter than say a large family or 6 people using a bath and doing all that extra washing every day. |

it works out cheaper if you stick to a bill, most new houses are fitted with a meter and they can`t change to a monthly bill, they want everyone to have a meter so this should tell you they are making more money out of meters. It is surprising how much water you really do use in a day. |

I believe it is at the moment but what happens when they have caught enough people with water meters to make it a good earner for them to start upping the charges. |

Call your water provider and ask. I did, and they asked me a lot of questions about how many rooms we have, how many people, baths/showers/washing machine usage and the like. They advised we'd be better off without for now, which suits me fine!
