Sure it can be cost effective. It also is more of a fixed known cost. If you are doing something in side, you have people that you pay no matter what the volume. You have an outside firm and it is usually based upon the volume at a set cost. So if you are really busy and can keep everyone busy all of the time, the cost may be better than outsourcing. If it is slower and people are not busy, then it may be better to outsource. |

Yes, at least in the short term. Otherwise, businesses wouldn't do it.
The question would be irrelevant if American workers, especially through their Unions didn't price themselves out of the market. Businesses are in business for the same reason individuals work for them: to make a buck. If a business can't make a profit in one labor market, the will either go to another labor market (outsource) or they will go out of business. |

depends on what you are outsourcing, just becsue it is cheap doesn't make it good, a former employer found that out when he outsourced the entire operation to Mexico, it lasted less than a year |
