Can anyone tell me, whether or not , they believe that the media unwittingly is driving our economy into recession. As the credit cruch is brought up every morning and night in the news ,and telling people how bad the US economy is doing ,which will result, soon or later , in the decision makers in the banks and financial instituation blocked everthing will have a devastating effects on every sector of our economy. |

Undoubtedly ..... I can not believe the stock markets are still as high as they are to be honest, every other global market: dollar, gold, fixed income are pricing in quite a severe slow down. To be honest, I don't think we've seen the half of it in America yet. I feel the day of wreakening is upon us. When the Dollar completely falls through the floor, sending America into a tailspin, a depression that'll make the 30s look like a picnic.
The knock on effects of all this will be severe for everyone. But in the UK we won;t have a depression, but a very very sharp recession.....
It's a time lag thing though. People will start to get unemployed, struggle to make mortgage payments, repossessions climb, housing market falls sharply ... banks lose on the money they've lent ..... it will take time |

According to Radio 4, they are already talking about being in a recession on Wall Street. I don't think this is the media's fault; greed & bad lending have caused the problem. |

think the rich are selling shares and valuables and buying
gold which is at an all time high? (Yesterdays news! )

The recession is coming because of the jobs lost by free trade and the invasion of cheap illegal labor being used to keep wages low. The illegals send their money home and those here that have lost jobs or have to compete with the cheap labor dont have as much money to spend. And dont forget how much extra money the gas companies have stolen from us in recent years.
thumbs down? you need to stop watching the media and start watching the real world. consumers drive the economy, not the media, and consumers have less to spend. |
