Is starbucks franchise or corporation?

mukwonago53149
Starbucks is a corporation, NOT a franchise. Therefore, the people that say "both" don't know what they are talking about. Looky here:

Starbucks does not franchise operations and has no plans to franchise in the foreseeable future.

In North America, the majority of our stores are Company-operated. As an exception, Starbucks may enter into licensing arrangements with companies who provide access to real estate which would otherwise be unavailable such as airport locations, national grocery chains, major food services corporations, college and university campuses and hospitals.

Aaron
There are NO Starbucks franchises.

The big stores are corporate run stores, but the small shops in Target, Airports, malls, etc. are liscensed, which is different from a Franchise in that these stores are not owned by a person, but "rented out" by the company that is housing them (like Target or the Mall company). These stores are not actually considered starbucks, but merely are renting out the name and the logo and the product.

Starbucks is a corporation. Starbucks DOES NOT have franchises. The smaller Starbucks that you see at grocery stores or bookstores or wherever are LICENSED stores, not franchises.

Please don't pay attention to most of your other answers...Mukwonag and I are correct. Starbucks is not both, it is simply a corporation, no franchises.

I looked into opening a franchise with them. They let me know that they only do franchises in really rare cases, such as where you have exclusive access to an area and they will have to. Otherwise they are all corporately owned. If you want a coffee shop youll have to start your own or do a franchise with someone else unless you own an airport.

Starbucks is more of a dictatorship then anything else. They have us repressed with delicious coffee which we fork over an incredible amount of money for, a large coffee at Dunkin Donuts is like a $1.

To answer ur q it's both a franchise and a corp.
