I thought it was an example of who gave the boss the best head.
I ALWAYS get employee of the month. |

A few months ago now I told my (then) boss he was a BS artist in front of all the other Guys I work with, because he was basically lying about me in front of them, and myself at a meeting.
He then went into a frenzy and went to each person in turn and asked them.
"Are you Giving 100% I'm giving 100% every day are you?"
And in turn they all answered
"Yes boss I'm giving 100%" like the dumb sheep they are.
When he came to me I said,
"No, I can't say I am and I don't really know how to Quantify work effort into a Percentage. Plus at these wages why would I?"
He just about imploded on the spot!!
Anyway the next day I was sent to another work site away from him because he didn't want to work with "someone who doesn't give 100% and I was quite happy with that because the work there was less stressful than at the main site.
A week later the Votes came in for employee of the Month.
A new initiative from our so called boss.
All the Guys Voted for the Guy they thought was the Best worker and he got to take home the Case of Beer of his choice up to the value of $70.
Guess who won
Little ole me!!
Anyway the wash up is a few weeks later he got sacked and charged with defrauding the company and I'm still there.
I guess my 80% was better than his 100% on any given day! |

Yeah, it is.
Hated that stuff years ago so I don't do it with my staff. They get tickets for events with their kids, the odd long weekend with pay, that kind of thing, and it applies to everyone, not just one.
Why single people out like that? You end up putting a target on their back, and they don't actually get a reward. |

Employee of the month says to all staff, 1 winner 100 losers this month. Companies will also let EOM go next month in a heart beat if business turns south, EMO or not. Companies usually "think" it is good but just talk to long timers and see what they think, especially if layoffs have been anounced and yet you won EOM. It is better to reward ALL staff when Company is doing well, not just one. Better to set up a bonus program giving all staff a chance at extra coin, not just who the boss(es)/committee wants to reward, especially if company's earning are falling. |

Yes. When that happened to me and my boss asked what I thought
I told him I would rather have gotten a raise. As far as I am concerned it is a cheap way of a company to thank an employee |
