the people on the tv say it'll get worse before it gets better. they say 2009 will be a year of recession for britain, which means some people will lose their jobs (depending on what sort of job theyre in). they say things wont start to get better until 2010 at the earliest
interest rates will prob be reduced to encourage spending, but that might mean your money will be worth less than it is now due to inflation |

Europe, and America, are in the same boat.
Our governments & mega corporations truly believed the "over paid" workers (us) were expendable - just a drain and no value.
So, they flung open the doors to third world countries and moved millions of our jobs there. See, workers with no safety & health rules, that make pennies, enable companies and the government (through corporate taxes) to make loads of profits. Yeah!
What the over educated morons didn't take into account, was that those jobs replaced with foreigners or shipped to Asia/Africa/South America, were the jobs of their BEST CUSTOMERS.
And once they took their customers jobs away (our jobs), they bankrupted their customers.
Idiots, now we all pay.
As the experts still haven't totally figured out why this is happening, do you really think they can fix a problem they can't even recognize?
I don't. We are in for a huge reckoning, huge.
And as always, us little guys are the ones that will get screwed. |

! I have seen some very interesting contributions here! I am not an economist but I know that capitalism has its bad side just like all systems.
And this is one of them! Lets face it even the human body gets old and sometimes doctors can't tell the symptoms of an illness. This is one of the times when even professionals are stuck, confused and totally aloft with no solutions.
Yes its bound to get bad! Really bad! Did you hear whats happening in Germany and Iceland? Lets enjoy the ride while it lasts! Better times are coming! Ummmmmmmmh!!!

Depends if the government decide to support your business.
If the bailout plan goes ahead tax payers will be losing money but that helps businesses, hopefully yours. But it might not actually help, just a waste of 700 bln bucks. You're an american, right? Well depends on your business. The government usually supports big business or ones with potential. If it is a small, independent business then you may be in trouble. Could be fine, but if you've heard from the manager or owner that things aren't good, and if your business really depends on the share market, then you may want to take some action. I don't know, is there more successful businesses you could transfer to with your job description? Just keep an eye on things, mate.
It's true, businesses classified as 'expendable' normally are the first to go. |
